We are currently looking for two personal assistants for a man in his 60s living on northern Gotland.

This is a qualified assistance assignment where your competence, presence, and sense of responsibility are of great importance every day. The client lives with ALS and has extensive care needs. To create security and continuity, we are looking for you who are stable, reliable, and want to work long-term.

About the assignment

As a personal assistant, you work closely with the client and are an important support in his daily life. The work is performed in the home and in the environments where the client is present.

The tasks include among other things:

• Personal care
• Mobility and work with assistive devices
• Support in daily routines
• Practical chores at home
• Accompaniment to activities and appointments
• Observation and adaptation to the client's daily condition and needs

The client uses respiratory support and a cough assist machine daily as part of his treatment. As an assistant, you will participate in the management of these devices according to current routines.

Previous experience with respiratory aids is meritorious but not a requirement. You will receive the necessary training and supervision through the neuro clinic in Visby, as well as an introduction, before you take independent responsibility for these tasks.

The work requires precision, responsibility, and the ability to follow instructions and routines.

Working hours

Day/Evening/Night

Day shift: 08:00–16:00

Evening shift: 16:00–22:30

Awake night: 22:00–08:30

• Have good Swedish in speech and writing
• Have a B driver's license and access to a car
• Are responsible, punctual, and reliable
• Can work independently and make thoughtful decisions within the framework of your assignment
• Are perceptive, respectful, and professional
• Understand the importance of integrity and self-determination
• Want to contribute to continuity and stability in the work group

Meritorious

• Experience as a personal assistant
• Experience with ALS or other neurological diseases
• Experience with respiratory aids or medical technology equipment
• Healthcare and care education, e.g., nursing assistant education
