We are currently seeking temporary personal assistants to work with a man in his mid-40s. He lives in his own apartment in Täby and is a warm, engaged family father. Despite having significant functional limitations, he is very involved in family life and actively follows his children's activities.

As an assistant at Novum Assistans, you will be a key enabler in his daily life. You will support him in all aspects of life – from personal care, hygiene, and meals to transfers. A central goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and meaningful environment in the home. The role also involves accompanying him to family activities as well as his children's leisure and sports events.

The assignment involves 24/7 supervision and support. Since the man breathes via a tracheostomy cannula and uses a ventilator for respiratory support, we always work with two assistants together. A crucial part of the job is ensuring smooth breathing by preventing blockages in the cannula, for example, using a suction catheter and mucolytic inhalations.

We are looking for someone who combines high professionalism with human warmth, patience, and care. You see the person behind the needs and understand the importance of being a safe, reliable, and engaged part of someone else's daily life.

Other Requirements

• You are a non-smoker.
• You have fluent Swedish in both speech and writing.

As a new employee at Novum, you will receive paid theoretical and practical introduction to the tasks. The training is provided by hospital staff with specialist competence in tracheostomy care, ensuring you have the right knowledge and confidence from day one.

About the Employment

The employment type is fixed-term for the duration of the assignment, with an initial hourly employment during the introduction period. The position is an extra role on an as-needed basis. You are offered a fixed hourly wage according to agreement, along with other benefits according to the collective agreement (Fremia-Kommunal: Personal Assistance).

Working hours are 08:00–15:00, 15:00–22:00, and 22:00–08:00. Hours may vary based on scheduling, and we strive to accommodate your preferences regarding working hours upon employment.

About the Recruitment Process

The selection process is ongoing. You will receive more information about the assignment during a potential interview. Start date is by agreement. To be employed by Novum Assistans, you must have a BankID and agree to use it for work purposes.

We apply a personality test for all applicants as part of this recruitment. The test takes approximately 15–20 minutes, and you will receive an invitation via email after applying. The test helps us match the right person with the right job, increasing the likelihood that you will thrive and succeed in the role.

A background check against the police's criminal records register is conducted prior to employment.
