We are currently seeking hourly substitute personal assistants to work with a man in his mid-40s. He lives in his own apartment in Täby and is a warm, engaged family man. Despite significant functional limitations, he wishes to be an active part of family life and participate in his children's activities.

As an assistant, you will be a key enabler in his daily life. You will support him in all aspects of life – from personal care, hygiene, and meals to transfers. The goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and meaningful environment in the home. The role also involves accompanying him to family activities, as well as his children's leisure and sports events.

The assignment involves supervision and support around the clock. The man breathes via a tracheostomy cannula and uses a ventilator for respiratory support. This means you will always work as a team of two assistants. A central part of the job is ensuring proper breathing by preventing blockages in the cannula, for example, using a suction catheter and mucolytic inhalations.

Who are you as an applicant?
We are looking for someone with personal suitability for the assignment. For us, this means you are responsible, caring, empathetic, and responsive. You are motivated by taking responsibility for another person's well-being and value diligence. The chemistry and interaction between you as the assistant and the client are crucial. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy being active in your work, as you will accompany the client to his activities.

As an assistant, you are punctual and able to keep schedules, but are also flexible when needed – for example, to cover for colleagues' absences. You enjoy taking initiative, both independently and in collaboration with others. You have a natural feel for working in someone's home and meet the home environment with respect and humility.

Other requirements for the position:

• You are a non-smoker.
• You have fluent Swedish in both speech and writing.

As a new employee at Novum, you will receive paid theoretical and practical introduction to the tasks. The introduction and training are provided by hospital staff with specialist competence in tracheostomy, ensuring you have the right knowledge and confidence in your role from the start.

About the employment
We apply the employment form fixed-term as long as the assignment lasts with an initial hourly employment during the introduction. The scope of the position is to work extra as needed. You are offered a fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other benefits according to the collective agreement (Fremia-Kommunal: Personal Assistance).

Working hours are 08:00–15:00, 15:00–22:00, and 22:00–08:00, and may vary based on your scheduling. In connection with employment, we strive to accommodate preferences regarding working hours.

About the recruitment process
The selection process is ongoing, and more information about the assignment will be provided during a potential interview. Start date is by agreement. Employment with Novum Assistans requires that you have a BankID and approve the use of your BankID in the service.

In this recruitment, we apply a personality test for all applicants. The test takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete, and you will receive an invitation via email after applying for the position. The tests help us match the right person with the right job, increasing the chance that you will thrive and succeed in the assignment.

A background check against the police's criminal record register is conducted prior to employment.
