About the Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you will lead and develop occupational health, safety, and environment work within the Nordic operations, specifically at our bakeries in Malmö and Stockholm. You will serve as an expert resource for management and operations, ensuring that health and safety work is conducted in accordance with current legislation (AML, AFS), internal guidelines, and industry practices. Your mission is to make health, safety, and environment a natural and integrated part of the daily work for all employees.
The role involves ensuring compliance with legal requirements, developing a strong safety culture ("Safety First"), and coaching, training, and driving preventive and continuous improvements in health and safety. You will work closely with production, technical, quality, and management teams, interpreting directives and changes (AFSar) and communicating them in an accessible manner. To earn respect and build trust, you must be visible among employees and in the production areas.

The role is based in Malmö and includes regular travel to the operations in Stockholm. You will be part of the management team and report to the General Manager Nordics (CEO) with a dotted line to the Head of Operations.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree and at least five years of experience as a specialist or manager in occupational health, safety, and environment within the food industry or another manufacturing sector. You should have good knowledge of Swedish occupational health and safety legislation as well as relevant EU directives. Furthermore, you should have experience leading investigations, risk assessments, and improvement projects, as well as experience in training, coaching, and developing organizations in health and safety.
Experience with audits and management systems is desirable. We expect you to have strong administrative skills and experience with reporting and KPI monitoring. Excellent proficiency in both Swedish and English is required.
Experience from environmental work is highly meritorious and may be added to this role at a later stage.
As a person, you are structured with strong prioritization skills. You are independent, operational, proactive, and results-oriented. You are analytical with a strong focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement. You enjoy the variation between office work and being out in the operations, as you have a genuine interest in working with people.
You have the ability to explain and persuade internal and external stakeholders in an engaging and pedagogical manner. You can relate to and build upon the interests, experiences, and knowledge levels of different individuals, adapting your communication to the recipient.
