At Vitådalens School, we are looking for a primary school teacher (grades 1-6) who wants to join our team!

About Us

Vitådalens School is a preschool to grade 6 school located in Vitå, roughly halfway between Luleå and Kalix. The school is an independent unit operated by the Vitådalens School Economic Association. Our guiding principles are safety, joy, and community. Through collaboration with local actors in the Vitå valley, we offer our students locally rooted activities throughout the year.

Students, guardians, and all staff at the school should feel safe in all aspects of our operations. We base our work on the school's plan against discrimination and harassing treatment, which is also part of our systematic quality work. Every student at Vitådalens School is seen and given the conditions to succeed. We challenge students to try new things and explore the world in a joyful manner, based on their own abilities, interests, and needs. We want students to feel: "Yes! I can!"

The school and the after-school center should be a meeting place where the foundation for lifelong learning is laid. It is a place where one can laugh and, through interaction with others, dare to express and communicate feelings. Every student is given the opportunity to develop, both individually and in groups, by taking initiative, being curious, and brave.

We learn together, both students and adults. We desire close cooperation between the school, the after-school center, guardians, and other actors in the entire Vitå valley, all for the students' opportunity to develop in all contexts.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have teacher education and are a licensed primary school teacher for grades 1–3. You should be empathetic, good at listening, understanding, and showing consideration. You adapt well and find win-win solutions through a goal-oriented focus without ego. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching according to the curriculum.
• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
• Assess students' knowledge development and document results.
• Adapt teaching to students' different needs.
• Be responsible for mentorship and social development in the class.
• Collaborate with colleagues, student health services, and school management.
• Maintain contact with guardians and participate in development conferences.
