Per Brahegymnasiet (PB) is a school that is innovative and forward-thinking, yet rooted in history and proud of its traditions. We care for one another and work to create a workplace where we all thrive and develop. The school has approximately 1,500 students and 150 employees and is beautifully located in the center of Jönköping. The university-preparatory programs we offer are EK, ES, IB, NA, and SA. The school is organized into four principal areas with shared support functions.

Your new job

Together with two theater teaching colleagues, you will teach subjects within theater such as physical theater, scenic character work, scenic design, directing, and voice. The Arts Program as a whole is an important and visible part of the school's operations, and you will belong to the principal area that encompasses the entire arts education with its four national specializations. In addition to teaching, you will participate in and be responsible for tasks within the subject and program working groups.

Given the high competence within the subject group, our facilities designed for theater education, and our ambition to provide a high-quality theater education, we have been granted by the Swedish National Agency for Education to conduct a nationally recruiting elite arts education in performing arts theater. Naturally, this is very fun and inspiring! This autumn, we will start a new school year with a record number of first-choice applicants.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are eligible and licensed as a theater teacher at the upper secondary level. We would appreciate it if you have experience teaching at the upper secondary level.

Our expectations of you as a teacher are that:

  • You are a clear leader and work in a structured manner.
  • You are communicative and work with feedback as a natural part of the assignment.
  • You take into account students' different needs and prerequisites for learning.
  • You have an easy time building relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
  • You are confident in working across professional boundaries and are curious to investigate our teaching together with colleagues and adapt it to optimize opportunities for students to learn.

Good to know

The position was created based on parental leave and is a fixed-term employment from November 1, 2026, to December 20, 2027. Possibility of extending the position may become relevant.

As the recruiting manager is on vacation from June 29 to August 2, any questions will be answered before or after this period.

This position is job-evaluated and falls under base group G.
