E.ON in Sweden is part of the international energy group E.ON SE, headquartered in Essen, Germany. Around 70,000 people work within the group across 17 countries. Around 2,100 dedicated employees work throughout Sweden. Our Nordic headquarters are located in Malmö. In Sweden, we deliver electricity, heating, and smart energy solutions to just over one million households and businesses. E.ON's role is to take responsibility and drive development forward so that more people can transition. With our investments and our customers' willingness to contribute, we work to continue electrifying society and meeting future energy needs.
Welcome to E.ON – and become part of the energy transition. In collaboration with our customers and partners, we ensure that electricity and heat are produced, used, and recycled more intelligently. If you have passion and believe in the power of working together, E.ON is the place for you.
About Us
Here, you will become part of a relatively new and engaged team within QA & Test Automation, where we jointly build a strong quality focus for our entire BizDevOps delivery structure at E.ON. Today, we are a team of approximately 17 employees, supplemented by consultants who contribute additional competence and flexibility.
We work closely together, share knowledge, and support each other in our mission – to ensure that what is delivered from E.ON maintains high quality and is truly reliable. We are on an exciting journey where you will have the opportunity to influence working methods, structure, and future direction.
We believe in collaboration, open dialogue, and an inclusive climate where we are driven by curiosity, care, and a strong desire to create value for our customers.
Your Role
As a Test Automation Engineer, you will become a central part of the BizDevOps Customer Service App team, where you will have the opportunity to work closely with both technology and user experience. You will play a key role in holding together the test automation related to E.ON's customer app, while also contributing to creating structure and direction in the overall testing work.
This is a role for you who enjoys working hands-on with code and has a natural ability to create context and make the whole work. You will collaborate closely with other testers and developers and ensure that the work leads to a common and well-functioning delivery. At the same time, you will contribute to coordinating and structuring testing efforts, including manual testing, in the app environment.
In the QA & Test Automation team, we have several testers, and working methods and composition can develop over time. The role also involves close interaction with other parts of the organization, where we support several product teams and may rotate between different contexts in the long term.
The focus in the role is strongly customer-centric; what we build and quality-assure is used directly by our customers, giving your work a clear and meaningful impact.
Your Experience
To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you have a few years of experience in test automation, preferably with a focus on mobile apps for iOS and Android. You feel confident in your technical competence and are accustomed to working with languages such as TypeScript or C#, where you can both understand and further develop solutions.
You have experience working with test automation frameworks and tools such as Appium, WebdriverIO, Playwright, or similar, and are comfortable working according to BDD principles with tools like Cucumber or Gauge. At the same time, you have a good understanding of test design and different types of tests, such as regression tests, smoke tests, and how these are integrated into CI/CD flows.
We also see that you are accustomed to working with version control in Git, debugging, and handling challenges such as unstable tests.
It is an advantage if you also have experience with API testing, backend validation, or working with test data, mock servers, and different test environments. Knowledge in areas such as accessibility, performance, or visual regression testing is also a plus, as is experience working with both app and web test automation.
Perhaps you have also been involved in improving automation frameworks or contributed to an overall automation strategy.
But most importantly, it is about who you are. You have a strong quality mindset and a genuine understanding that what you do affects the customer's experience. You are engaged, curious, and enjoy taking responsibility, both for your own delivery and for the whole together with others.
What is it like here?
Welcome to our QA & Test Automation team! Here we work together to ensure high quality through smart test strategies and increased automation. We share knowledge, develop continuously, and are driven by curiosity about new technologies and working methods.
Here you will have the opportunity to contribute, grow, and influence how we build quality in the entire development process.
Your future manager, David Petersson, prioritizes collaboration, inclusion, and engagement. He creates an environment where everyone gets to speak up, encourages improvements, and supports your development within QA and Test Automation, always with a focus on the team succeeding together.
At E.ON, we actively work with inclusion – it is crucial to drive the energy transition forward. We want you to feel welcome! We strive to create a safe working environment with meaningful tasks and good opportunities for development. We continue to challenge ourselves to create a welcoming workplace where we hope you will thrive.
We work for a more sustainable energy society, but it is equally important that our employees have the conditions to care for their own sustainability. Therefore, we offer good benefits so that you feel well and have a good balance between work and leisure. Some of these include, for example, reduced working hours that are higher than the industry standard, health insurance, free healthcare, and more!
We warmly welcome you to apply and join us on the path to a sustainable society! The last day for applications is June 24.
