About Project Mittstråket 2.0

Project Mittstråket 2.0 works on developing the Midland Line (Mittbanan) between Sundsvall and Storlien. Through investments and investigations, the project aims to contribute to making the Midland Line a fossil-free transport corridor with increased capacity, improved accessibility, shorter travel times, redundancy, and enhanced safety.

The project runs until October 31, 2027, with a budget of just over 300 million SEK. It is a collaborative project between Region Jämtland Härjedalen, the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), and Krokom Municipality, funded by the EU Regional Fund, Region Jämtland Härjedalen, and Region Västernorrland.

Region Jämtland Härjedalen is the project owner. The position of project staff member for Mittstråket 2.0 is located within the Sustainable Growth area, which is part of Regional Development at Region Jämtland Härjedalen. Region Jämtland Härjedalen is a politically governed organization with responsibility for regional development in the county.

Responsibilities

The project organization for Mittstråket 2.0 consists of a project economist, a project communicator, a project staff member, and a project manager. In the coming years, the project will enter a more intensive phase and needs to strengthen the project management with an additional staff member for just over a year.

In your role as a project staff member, you will work in an active role as a commissioner of tasks. You will be part of the daily work with the project and participate in various activities such as planning upcoming activities, follow-up meetings with procured consultants, organizing exhibitions, learning seminars, workshops, etc.

You will work both independently and in groups, as well as carry out activities together with our partners.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with a university degree in urban planning and an interest in transport infrastructure. It is meritorious if you have worked with railway issues and have experience in strategic urban planning, as well as experience in organizing events and exhibitions.

It is important to us that you thrive in a varied workday and can handle changes. We also want you to enjoy working in a group, collaborate easily with internal and external actors, have drive, and be able to work independently. It is of great importance that you can express yourself well in speech and writing.
