We are looking for a dynamic, resourceful, and experienced person to work as a research assistant, providing administrative and logistical support to the research group PERCEPT – Mental Imagery and Mental Health.
The group's research has a core interest in the science of mental health and the translation of basic results to create innovations that improve psychological treatments. It combines perspectives from clinical and experimental psychology and uses an interdisciplinary methodology that includes psychology, psychiatry, cognitive science, neuroscience, art, etc. The current focus is on reducing the occurrence of intrusive memories after traumatic events. The research methods combine laboratory and clinical settings to develop a Digital Intervention that can open new possibilities for treating trauma and improving the quality of life for those affected by intrusive memories.
The work will include support for the digital aspects of the project related to the Digital Intervention. The role requires broad knowledge of IT, AI, and cybersecurity, including practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI in professional or academic contexts, in addition to administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Administration, such as document management using AI tools including Large Language Models, with an understanding of their limitations and data integrity requirements.
- Assist in communicating about the project, focusing on the digital AI aspect.
- Support cybersecurity implementation and data science within the broader project.
- Practical experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI, including knowledge of their limitations and relevant data protection issues (GDPR) in a research context.
- Plan own tasks and goals on a weekly basis and provide feedback.
- Take meeting minutes during meetings.
- Contribute to PowerPoint presentations and reports.
- Gather and organize material for external communication, including social media.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
Qualifications
To be employed as a research assistant, it is a requirement that you are admitted to advanced level studies and have a relevant bachelor's degree in information technology.
You have a relevant master's degree with relevant courses in cybersecurity, AI, and a master's thesis in the subject, and experience that the employer considers equivalent.
Previous experience in database design and system design due to the need for planned projects.
Previous experience in handling external communication.
Willingness to plan time and tasks regarding the project in IT and IT security matters and the needs of its employees/research partners, as well as to provide feedback on plans and progress on a weekly basis.
You are fluent in speaking and writing in Swedish, English, and a third European language for the planned project.
Desirable/Additional Qualifications
Great importance is placed on personal qualities. You are accustomed to working in a result- and goal-oriented manner with short deadlines. Many of the tasks require good teamwork skills. You work proactively and plan your work with good foresight.
It is desirable that the candidate has completed courses or holds certifications in IT security matters.
About the Position
The employment is fixed-term until 2026-12-31 according to HF 5 kap § 12. The scope is 50%. Start date: as soon as possible or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
