With cutting-edge research, world-class education, and extensive collaboration, we are a key driver in the development of pharmacy. In this inspiring environment, research of international high standard and significant scientific importance takes place. Our core competencies include modeling and simulation, in vitro ADME models, advanced in vivo methods, and aspects ranging from individual drug use to societal drug policies. Together, we form a unique cluster of academic competencies in pharmacy and play a central role in shaping the future of pharmaceutical science in Sweden and globally.

A selection of our specific focus areas: Molecular Galenic Pharmacy • Advanced Drug Delivery • Pharmacokinetics • Pharmacodynamics • Pharmaceutics • Clinical Pharmacy • Pharmacoeconomics • Pharmacoepidemiology • Pharmacotherapy • Social Pharmacy • Biological Drugs.

For more information see: Department of Pharmacy

The Research Group: The Research Assistant will work in the research unit for Advanced Drug Delivery, led by Professor Alexandra Teleki at the Department of Pharmacy, Uppsala University, affiliated with SciLifeLab. The group integrates materials science, nanomedicine, cell and molecular biology, and pharmacy to develop advanced drug delivery systems. Its overarching goal is to translate innovative nanomedical innovations into clinically relevant, patient-friendly diagnostic methods and therapies. More information can be found at: telekilab.org.

The Project: The Research Assistant will work with diagnostic applications and support ongoing projects within the group. The work is primarily laboratory-based and will focus on iron oxide nanoparticles. Tasks include functionalization and characterization of magnetic nanoparticles. The Research Assistant will investigate how the functionalization of particles affects their response in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The project includes both in vitro studies and cell-based models to evaluate the particles' properties and biological interactions.

Focus Areas: Galenic Pharmacy • Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology • Nanomedicine • Iron Oxide Nanoparticles • Nanoparticle Synthesis • Surface Modification • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Qualifications: Applications from highly motivated candidates are welcome. A Master's degree or equivalent knowledge in pharmacy, biopharmaceuticals, or another relevant field is required. Good communication skills in English, both written and oral, are meritorious. Previous experience with cell culture of Caco-2, HT-29 MTX, and/or THP-1-derived macrophages, and antibody conjugation chemistry, is meritorious. Experience with physicochemical characterization of magnetic nanoparticles is also meritorious, as well as knowledge of GraphPad Prism and ImageJ.
