In our operations, we meet people of all ages, including children, young people, parents, individuals with addictions, substance abuse issues, or social psychiatric disabilities, victims of violence, and those in need of financial support. We work with regulatory authority tasks, needs-assessed interventions, as well as preventive and advisory measures to reach people early.

Our organization has shifted to a first-line social service model with a single entry point for citizens, meaning all cases are initially handled by a common reception unit. Subsequently, investigations and further interventions take place in a second line. This working method aims to make social services more accessible and efficient for everyone in need of support. Collaboration is a central part of our approach as we value supporting each other to achieve the best possible results for those we serve.

We are a sector driven by a genuine interest in our mission, where we aim to create conditions for equal and gender-equal living standards in Skövde through knowledge-based interventions.

Job Description

As a Preventive Youth Coordinator, you will become part of a team working on the municipality's preventive measures for children and young people. In this role, you will work both strategically and operationally, bringing together various actors around common goals, identifying needs, and driving the development of interventions for young people.

In your assignment, you will among other things:

  • Build and develop collaboration between social services, schools, police, leisure activities, guardians, and civil society
  • Work to ensure that children and young people receive support at an early stage
  • Initiate and coordinate preventive activities and interventions
  • Monitor the development among children and young people and identify needs and risk factors
  • Contribute to the municipality's safety-promoting work
  • Strengthen young people's participation and influence
  • Drive development and improvement work within the preventive area
  • Participate in and conduct parenting education courses, such as ABC and Komet

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work, the social psychology program, or other education that the employer finds suitable.

You are a person who is confident in yourself and sees opportunities where others see challenges. You easily build trust, create relationships, and get people to work towards common goals.

In addition to the requirement for relevant education, we would like you to have:

  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Experience from social services and knowledge of the new Social Services Act
  • Experience of collaboration between different operations, such as schools, safety work, or collaboration models such as SSPF
  • Ability to work independently and drive processes forward
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written

The position involves flexible working hours, which may include evening and weekend work if necessary.

Since travel is part of the job and you will drive a company car on some occasions, a B-driver's license is required.

Employment type: Permanent.
Duration: Permanent, start date: By agreement.
