About the job

We are now looking for two new colleagues to the housing facility with special support at Tuppfjätgatan! The facility is undergoing renovation and will be expanded with two apartments this autumn. We are looking for you who want to work with our target group, adults with acquired brain injuries. The needs of our tenants vary, ranging from care with full ADL (Activities of Daily Living) to more verbal support and guidance. The goal is for those living here to receive individualized support to live as independent a life as possible, where we promote health and rehabilitation.

The work as a support assistant involves providing the residents with individually adapted support through a low-affective approach, as well as encouraging and motivating them in daily rehabilitation and daily living. Some of the residents are in great need of care and need help with transfers. We work to stimulate leisure activities and offer our tenants, among other things, physical activities. We have close cooperation with the health care team consisting of a nurse, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist. The duties also include medication management according to delegation, social documentation in the Treserva system, and some other administrative tasks.

As a permanently assigned support assistant, you will have the opportunity to be a contact person for a user and to be responsible for your own area of responsibility, e.g., hygiene, assistive devices, or fire safety. All support assistants at our company are offered the opportunity for further internal education. We work with targeted training initiatives based on the needs we see in the operations.

There is established cooperation between the units in the scheduling group, and the work is scheduled for days, evenings, and two weekends out of four. The scheduling of working hours may change if the needs of the tenants change.

About you

We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing program, the Support Assistant education, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Merit-worthy is if you have relevant supplementary education and/or experience working with people with brain injuries. You have worked with care work previously.

We want you to be clear in your communication and able to work pedagogically and methodically. Experience of working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is merit-worthy. You have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1 may be offered a language test through the test provider Educateit.

You can quickly change your perspective and attitude and see opportunities in changes. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You have the courage and ability to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment without being dependent on others. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure. You see opportunities for change and create situations where new ideas and proposals can be developed.
