Support Assistant for Group Housing in Muggebo, Mariestad

The group housing at Kilkestensvägen is located in the Muggebo area. The residence is surrounded by forest and boasts a fantastic outdoor environment. Five individuals with various functional variations live here in ground-floor apartments, each with their own patio in a peaceful setting.

We are now looking for a Support Assistant who, like us, is passionate about individualized care in a homely environment!

Job Responsibilities

As a Support Assistant, you work close to the users in their living environment. The role is based on the LSS Act (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) with the aim of providing a good quality of life. This involves positively encouraging, stimulating, and engaging each person to increase their independence, while creating continuity and security.

Your tasks are based on the individual's needs, where you are responsible for care and support with personal hygiene, laundry, meals, cleaning, social contacts, and support during leisure activities. You will also collaborate with various parties, such as relatives, support educators, day activity centers, unit managers, nurses, and others. Written documentation is also part of the job.

It is important that you are attentive to the signals you receive from the residents and that you encourage participation. A key task is to work towards the individual being involved in the planning of their support as well as in societal life.

Working hours are varied, including daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.

The position is a permanent full-time role, starting as soon as possible according to agreement.

Qualifications and Merits

We look for candidates who have completed a Child and Youth Care program, are trained as Assistant Nurses (Undersköterska), or have other post-secondary behavioral science education deemed relevant by the employer.

Experience in the following areas is considered a merit:

• Structured Teaching (Tydliggörande pedagogik)
• Low-Affective Approach (Lågaffektivt bemötande)
• AKK (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
• TAKK (Total Communication / Signed Support for Speech and Communication)
• Documentation in the Lifecare system
• Care-related tasks

Experience as a Support Assistant is a merit, but we also welcome interested recent graduates in Child Care, Assistant Nursing, or other behavioral science fields who wish to learn the role and develop together with us.

Working at the group housing on Kilkestensvägen requires you to be a secure individual who is attentive to the resident's need to follow their routines. You are responsible, solution-oriented, and enjoy varied tasks. You take initiative and are skilled at motivating residents in their daily lives through activities that help them maintain a meaningful and active life based on their own needs.

Other personal qualities important for the role include curiosity in meeting people and keeping the individual's needs at the center. As a colleague, you have an inspiring attitude and good collaboration skills.

A valid Category B driver's license is required for the position, and you must be able to work irregular hours as the schedule varies.
