Support Pedagogue for Group Home in Muggebo
Within the Disability Support department, our mission is to strengthen people's abilities for independence, self-determination, and participation in their lives. We strive to ensure that each individual receives stimulation, development, meaning, and community.
We are now looking for a Support Pedagogue for Kilkestens group home, located in the Muggebo area. The residence is surrounded by forest and has a fantastic outdoor environment. Five people with various functional variations live here in ground-floor apartments with private outdoor spaces in a quiet environment.
Do you want a developing and social job where you work both close to the users and as a support to your colleagues? Are you pedagogically inclined and do you have good knowledge of the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) legislation? Then you might be the one we are looking for!
RESPONSIBILITIES
The position involves a combination of tasks, where 20% of working hours are dedicated to pedagogical work and the remainder is user-oriented work. It may also become relevant to work as a support pedagogue in several operations. In the long term, the goal is for each operation to have its own support pedagogue.
Your responsibilities include:
- Working to increase users' participation, integrity, independence, and self-determination.
- Having special responsibility for the development of the pedagogical operations.
- Gathering and spreading knowledge about sustainable and evidence-based pedagogical methods with the aim of driving the operations forward.
- Actively listening to staff thoughts and ideas and attempting to incorporate them.
- Acting as a sounding board and support for other staff regarding documentation and the creation of implementation plans.
- Assisting and supporting staff with development work in pedagogical methods to increase the individual user's participation in their daily life and promote the user's independence.
- Supervising students from relevant education programs related to the support pedagogue role.
- Being an active participant in regular network meetings with other support pedagogues.
In addition to working closely with your support pedagogue colleagues and care staff, you will also have contact with, for example, relatives, nurses, rehabilitation staff, unit managers, and others. As a support pedagogue, there is an opportunity to influence the design of the work in close collaboration with colleagues and the unit manager.
The position is available to start as soon as possible according to agreement.
QUALIFICATIONS
>To work as a support pedagogue, you need a suitable post-secondary education such as support pedagogue or specialization within the disability area with a pedagogical focus, comprising at least 200 vocational higher education credits or 60 university level credits. We also value that you have experience and knowledge specifically regarding LSS and its legislation.
In the user-oriented work, you should be responsive, secure, and patient with a low-affective approach. You follow the routines that the residents have in their daily life and have no problem working both socially and in a care-oriented manner.
We are looking for someone who has a great interest in development work and feels secure in taking a leading role in this. You are expected to contribute to developing the pedagogical work in the operations as well as ensuring good quality in documentation. An important part of the task is to be able to identify needs and design pedagogical solutions based on each individual's prerequisites. You are good at motivating and engaging your colleagues in development work. Furthermore, you need to be responsible, see solutions instead of obstacles, and enjoy varied tasks. Having a humble approach and valuing good collaboration is seen as a matter of course.
A manual B-driver's license is a requirement.
When applying, we want a CV showing your previous merits. You may omit the cover letter; instead, you will answer some selection questions. We place great importance on personal qualities and good references. Prior to an employment offer, we will also request extracts from the criminal record register: "Elderly or persons with disabilities".
Trial employment may be applied.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.
Start date: As soon as possible according to agreement.
