About the job

We are looking for a personal assistant for a fixed-term position with a woman who has acquired brain injury. The workplace is located in central Lidköping. As a personal assistant, you will be a support in daily life regarding meeting needs for personal care and supporting structure and security. The working hours are currently scheduled as 24-hour shifts with on-call sleeping duty.

We work with joint planning, so there will also be introductions and work shifts with other users.

Job responsibilities

Working as a personal assistant means supporting and accompanying the user in daily life. You are a support in personal care, activities, household chores, and daily life in general. The job also involves performing delegated healthcare interventions, supporting rehabilitative efforts, and using assistive devices prescribed by rehabilitation. You will also work with cognitive and pedagogical support, using yourself as a tool to work in a low-affective manner and with interaction strategies when interacting with the user. Care and support are provided based on the individual's needs, integrity, and self-determination. You have a statutory and professional responsibility for specified tasks according to LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and HSL (Health and Medical Services Act). Documentation in the activity system and medication management are part of the assignment. We use several digital tools.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who is a calm and secure person, preferably with previous experience working with people with acquired brain injury or other cognitive difficulties. You have the ability to meet people in affect with calmness, empathy, and stability. You are careful and responsible, have a professional attitude, and put the user at the center. We want you to be able to work independently and be secure in solo work, but also that you have good cooperation skills.

Requirements

• Approved vocational degree from the Care and Nursing program, or the Child and Youth program with a social orientation, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Since social documentation and communication are important in your work, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish and good computer skills.
• You also need to have good physical fitness to handle the assignment.

The selection process is planned to start on 2026-07-13, considering the holiday period.

Fixed-term position until 2027-01-13 with the possibility of extension. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends.

Criminal Record Extract

Before offering employment, you as a candidate are obliged to show an extract from the criminal record register for work in any of the following areas; school or preschool, work with children in other activities than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS, work at or in connection with HVB homes (residential homes for youth care), work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
