ABOUT THE ROLE

Bättre Assistans is currently looking for a temporary substitute for a young man in Boden! The working hours are scheduled as follows:

• Weekdays: 16:00-21:00

• Weekends: 10:00-17:30.

In this position, you will take on the role of personal assistant to a young person with a disability who requires extensive and structured support in daily life. For the client to feel safe, it is of utmost importance to have clear structure, predictability, and a calm environment. Communication takes place using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods, which include the use of sound, body language, signs, and picture support. A central aspect of the assistance is the great need for active supervision and presence during all waking hours. In your work, you will become a crucial part of the client's daily life, contributing directly to both safety and quality of life.

THE CLIENT'S INTERESTS

In their spare time, the client enjoys activities such as listening to music or YouTube clips, being physically active by running and jumping, and playing with water.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main tasks are to provide extensive support with daily routines (ADL), which includes help with personal hygiene (such as toilet visits, bathing/showering, brushing teeth), dressing and undressing, as well as handling meals and eating. Furthermore, it includes active safety responsibility and supervision, where continuous presence and proactive work are used to manage and prevent challenging situations to maintain a safe environment. You also provide support in communication and social interaction by actively using communication aids and interpreting the client's signals. Finally, you are responsible for accompaniment during community activities, outdoor stays, and transport.

ARE YOU THE ONE WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone who is clear, responsive, and has a low-affective approach. It is crucial that you have the ability to build a long-term relationship and create familiarity, as the client can become stressed by new contacts and other people. You must be able to provide the stability and structure that the client needs. Furthermore, you have a high awareness of risks and can maintain constant, active supervision. We need a person who is calm and secure in their role, even when the situation becomes challenging.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working as a personal assistant

• Knowledge and experience working with autism

• Training in low-affective approach (LAB)

The certificate is ordered via the Police Authority's e-service. Note that processing times may vary, so the order should be placed in good time.
