As a school nurse with us, you will have close contact and broad collaboration with the entire student health team, which consists of several school nurses, special education teachers, counselors, and study and career advisors. We hope you want to become part of us!

Your Responsibilities

Working as a school nurse is varied and flexible. You will conduct health visits and health conversations, including health examinations and vaccinations, as well as maintain an open reception. You are an important part of the student health team, contributing your medical expertise. Working within student health primarily involves health promotion and preventive work, as well as supporting students' development towards educational goals. With your competence in nursing care, you provide consultative support to the school's other staff in their pedagogical work.

You are part of a professional network for the municipality's other school nurses, with regular meetings for quality development and support in work. School nurses in the network are also offered supervision and profession-specific competence development.

Your Competence

We are now looking for you who are a registered nurse with further education in primary health care or health care for children and adolescents, or alternatively, education as a school nurse. It is meritorious if you have experience working as a school nurse or in health promotion work with children and adolescents.

You have a good ability to structure and plan your work efficiently. You enjoy working outwardly and find it easy to build good relationships, both with students, their guardians, and colleagues in the staff group. In your role, you will collaborate with different professional categories within the school as well as have contact with external organizations and authorities. The promoting and preventive work is a clear and central part of the assignment.

Tranellska is part of Västerås City's school operations. We are the most experienced educational provider within the hotel, tourism, restaurant, and bakery industries. Approximately 240 upper secondary students and 40 adult learners study here. We train the chefs, waiters, bakers/pastry chefs, and employees of the future for the hotel and tourism industry. Before you can be employed, you must present a certified extract from the police's criminal record register.

In connection with the interview, you must prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of residence together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
