to apply for the job

As a nurse at the Oncology Clinic's day care unit, you will have the opportunity to create continuity, involvement, and security for patients and their relatives during a crucial part of their lives.

We offer a workplace where collaboration, learning, and development are a natural part of everyday life. Here you will work closely with the patient, develop your competence in modern cancer treatment, and be involved in the development of future cancer care.

Job Responsibilities

At the day care unit, we treat patients with various cancers, and you will follow these patients through large parts of their treatment period. The work involves both advanced nursing care and medical-technical tasks. You are responsible for planned treatments, follow up on effects and side effects, and inform and guide patients and relatives regarding treatment and medication. Telephone advice and support for patients' self-care are also a natural part of the role.

You largely plan your own work and have your own schedule while working closely with colleagues from various professions. Together, you create a safe and secure care environment where the patient's needs are at the center.

Cancer care is continuously developing through new drugs, treatment methods, and working practices. With us, you become part of a forward-thinking operation where development, learning, and improvement work are a natural part of daily life. We are also undergoing an exciting transition towards more close and person-centered care, with the goal of allowing patients to receive their treatment closer to home. We have also implemented and developed Cydos, a program for ordering, manufacturing, and administering, among other things, cytostatics.

About the Workplace

At the Oncology Clinic's day care unit, nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors work together to provide patients with safe and secure care. We have a stable and experienced staff group with a strong commitment to both patients and colleagues. We value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and an open climate where it is natural to ask, learn, and develop together.

The operation also includes a PICC clinic and a clinical trial unit, enabling participation in studies and contributing to the development of future cancer treatments.

We are part of the Oncology Clinic in Västerås, where approximately 130 employees work in outpatient care, inpatient care, radiotherapy, and cancer rehabilitation. Our care is characterized by a holistic view of the human being, where physical, psychological, social, and existential needs are a clear part of the care provided.

For us, it is important that you feel well and enjoy your job, which is why we offer you:

  • An adapted induction program to help you feel confident and secure in your professional role
  • Opportunities for competence development through, for example, internal training
  • A workplace for all stages of life, with the possibility of flexible working hours within certain frameworks
  • Free training at our fully equipped gym
  • Health allowance of 3,000 SEK/year
