About Us
The Control Department has a broad mandate to ensure that only approved goods pass through Sweden's borders. The task involves conducting customs controls on imports and exports, where the Swedish Customs Authority looks for goods that violate restrictions, as well as ensuring that correct customs duties and taxes are collected.
We are now looking for a case handler to work as a coordinator for security and contingency issues for the Control Department, South Unit.
About the Position
As a security and contingency coordinator at the unit, you will primarily work with security matters, such as conducting security clearance interviews and handling regional security issues. You will serve as a natural point of contact between the unit's management and the national security and contingency unit at the Swedish Customs Authority, together with other regional coordinators.
You may also be involved in various collaboration groups with other authorities or departments within the Swedish Customs Authority. The work requires close dialogue with, among others, unit managers, group leaders, and our planning function.
Other tasks, such as handling referrals, preparing reports, supporting documents, and various inquiries that occur within unit support, may also arise.
Are You the One We Are Looking For?
We are looking for someone who has:
- Post-secondary education that the employer considers relevant, e.g., in law, behavioral science, social science, security/contingency work, or criminology, or other education combined with experience that the Swedish Customs Authority deems relevant for the role
- Current work experience of independently handling/coordinating security and/or contingency-related cases, or other experience that the Swedish Customs Authority deems equivalent
- Good knowledge of the Office package
- Good ability to communicate in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
It is meritorious if you have:
- Training as a security/security protection handler
- Training as a contingency handler
- Experience working with security issues
- Experience working with civil defense and/or contingency issues
- Experience working with threat and risk assessments
- Experience in shaping and writing governing and supporting documents
- Experience in developing methods and working practices
- Experience in authority collaboration
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is result-oriented and has good problem-solving skills. You work independently, are flexible, and are happy to share your knowledge with others. You are interested in global issues and how they affect our operations.
Since the work requires a lot of collaboration and dialogue with both internal and external parties, you need to be perceptive and enjoy collaborating with others. The work within unit support may involve periods of high workload, and you need to be able to prioritize and focus on the right things.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

We value well-being and competence development highly, and we strive to ensure that you, as an employee, can maintain a good balance between work and leisure.
