We are currently looking for 2 Cooks and 2 Kitchen Managers to join our internal kitchen pool within the catering and service department. As a Kitchen Manager, you will primarily work in preschools with receiving kitchens.

The Service Administration is Falu Municipality's provider of internal service and ancillary services according to a Facility Management (FM) concept, local supply, and management of most of the municipality's properties. The assignment is to support the municipality's various operations by providing appropriate and functional premises, tasty and nutritious meals, vehicles, and transport services among other ancillary services. Falu Municipality is the leading public employer in the region for developing FM services and support based on BIM. This development takes place both in construction and management.

Eating habits and attitudes towards food are often established at a young age. Good and nutritious food provides good conditions for development and a healthy, active life. High-quality meals are important for increasing children's and young people's conditions for learning and benefiting from the pedagogical activities. Those of us employed in catering and cleaning work to ensure that children and students are offered good and nutritious food prepared with great care.

Within Falu Municipality, we want everyone to be able to support themselves on their salary, which is why we offer full-time employment to everyone. This means that our positions usually consist of not only kitchen work but also cleaning, as we work integrated within catering and service.

Job Responsibilities

As an employee in our pool, you staff the catering and cleaning services based on need. You start from your home and receive your daily bookings from our staffing planners who distribute the day's work shifts.

The work is carried out in both receiving and preparation kitchens and includes tasks such as preparing breakfast and snacks, receiving cold and hot meals, preparing lunch, cleaning, dishwashing, and documenting self-control according to HACCP.

If necessary, several different locations may be relevant on the same day. Cleaning assignments are also included in the position. The role usually involves working alone.

An employment in our internal pool is an entry point into our operations, giving you extensive knowledge of our organization while providing opportunities to build your own network. The employment can later lead to a permanent placement.

Qualifications

For the role of Cook, the following is required:

• Education in large-scale kitchens/restaurants or professional experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Basic IT skills are required to handle our ordering systems, email, smartphone, and personnel system, as well as to communicate via email with managers and colleagues.
• A driver's license and access to a personal car are required. The area is geographically large, and workplaces vary from day to day.
• Since part of the work involves being able to work according to a job description and to provide written and/or oral documentation yourself, good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required.

For the role of Kitchen Manager, the following is required:

• A driver's license and access to a personal car are required. The area is geographically large, and workplaces vary from day to day.
• Education and/or professional experience within the field of activity or large-scale kitchens, restaurants.
• Basic IT skills are required to handle our ordering systems, email, smartphone, and personnel system, as well as to communicate via email with managers and colleagues.
• Since part of the work involves being able to work according to a job description and to provide written and/or oral documentation yourself, good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Education and experience from diet cooking (special diet).
• Education and experience within cleaning.

Terms of Employment

The positions are permanent full-time employment with the possibility of a lower percentage of employment within the framework of the full-time agreement. Commencement by agreement. Working hours are during daytime Monday-Friday.
