We are currently looking for kitchen staff, including cooks for production kitchens, as well as kitchen managers for receiving kitchens, for hourly employment and the possibility of temporary assignments for up to three months.

Service Förvaltningen is Falu Municipality's provider of internal service and ancillary services according to a Facility Management (FM) concept, local supply, and management of most of the municipality's properties. The task is to support the municipality's various operations by providing purposeful and functional premises, tasty and nutritious meals, vehicles, and transport services, among other ancillary services. Falu Municipality is the leading public employer in the region for developing FM services and support based on Building Information Modeling (BIM). This development takes place both in construction and management.

Eating habits and attitudes towards food are often established at a young age. Good and nutritious food provides good conditions for development and a healthy, active life. High-quality meals are important for increasing children's and young people's conditions for learning and benefiting from educational activities. Those of us employed in catering and cleaning work to ensure that children and students are offered good and nutritious food prepared with great care.

Since we have several combined roles, the assignments may also include cleaning, as we value the physical environment for our citizens by offering clean and healthy premises.

Job Responsibilities

As an hourly employee with us, you staff kitchens based on need. You start from your home and receive your bookings from our staffing planners based on availability.

Falu Municipality staffs both preschool kitchens, school kitchens, and our production kitchen. In total, there are approximately 70 kitchens of various sizes located throughout the municipality.

The work is carried out in both receiving and production kitchens and includes tasks such as preparing breakfast and snacks, receiving cold and hot meals, cooking lunch, cleaning, dishwashing, and documenting self-control according to HACCP.

If necessary, several different locations may be relevant on the same day. The role usually involves working alone. Cleaning assignments, such as cleaning preschool premises, are also included in the position.

Qualifications

For the role of Cook, the following is required:

• Education in large-scale kitchens/restaurants or professional experience that the employer deems equivalent.

For the role of Kitchen Manager in receiving kitchens, the following is required:

• Cleaning education or professional experience that the employer deems equivalent for the position.
• Basic IT skills are required to handle our ordering systems, email, smartphone, and personnel systems, as well as to communicate via email with managers and colleagues.
• Since part of the work involves being able to work according to a job description and to provide written and/or oral documentation yourself, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required, both in speech and in writing.

We also see that you can work independently, drive assignments, and take responsibility on your own, as well as being able to collaborate with colleagues and others you meet. Meritorious Qualifications

• Education and experience from diet cooking (special diets).
• Professional experience that the employer deems relevant.
• Driver's license, as the area is geographically large and workplaces vary from day to day.
• Cleaning education or professional experience that the employer deems equivalent for the position.

Employment Terms

The position is hourly employment with the possibility of temporary assignments for up to three months. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement. Working hours are during daytime, Monday-Friday.
