Here you will work with C code that ends up close to reality: in instruments that measure, test, and help customers understand their electrical systems. This is embedded development where hardware matters, where debugging often takes place close to the product, and where you get to see how your technical decisions directly impact functionality.
About the Role
As an Embedded Software Developer, you will become part of a software team working on embedded systems for technical products with long lifespans. The focus is on C development close to the hardware. The role is long-term, and there are opportunities to take on more responsibility in the future based on how you wish to grow.
The company develops its own test and measurement products for electrical applications. Customers are found in sectors such as power distribution, industry, and infrastructure, and the products are used globally in environments where measurements need to be reliable and systems must function for a long time.
The team culture is described as helpful and flat. Colleagues take time for technical questions, share knowledge, and solve problems together. There is a strong understanding that good development requires both technical depth and collaboration between disciplines.
Responsibilities
You will work in product development projects where software, electronics, mechanics, and testing need to align. This may involve understanding how the instrument behaves during different measurements, how disturbances affect the system, how the software should handle specific operating cases, or how functions should be verified in the finished product.
The work is product-oriented and cross-functional. You collaborate with other software developers, hardware developers, test engineers, and system engineers. Often, you follow technical solutions over a longer period, from implementation and debugging to verification and the final product.
Among other things, you will:
- Develop embedded software in C for test and measurement instruments
- Work close to electronics, hardware, and real measurement systems
- Debug, analyze, and verify functionality in physical products
- Participate in product development projects from early stages to finished product
- Collaborate with hardware, test, mechanics, and systems on technical issues
- Contribute to code quality, technical choices, and long-term product understanding
- Gain insight into how the software affects the entire instrument's functionality
We are looking for someone who
- Has several years of experience in embedded development
- Has good knowledge of C
- Has an understanding of embedded systems, debugging, and product-oriented development
- Has good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Advantageous experience:
- Real-time systems or RTOS
- Communication protocols
- Electronics-oriented development
- Metering instruments, test equipment, or other technical products with high reliability requirements
- Verification, debugging, or testing close to hardware
- Work in cross-functional product development teams
We believe you are a curious and responsible developer who wants to understand the product behind the code. You enjoy debugging, reasoning technically, and moving forward together with others. You are confident in your technical skills but flat in your collaboration. You ask when you need input, are happy to share what you know, and have a natural focus on quality in what you build.
Why this role?
This is an opportunity for you who want to continue developing as an embedded developer without losing proximity to the technology. You will work with physical products, real measurement situations, and code that affects how instruments function in the customer's environment.
The role gives you technical breadth through collaboration with hardware, test, and systems. At the same time, you get to deepen your knowledge in embedded development and C in an environment where product understanding, long-term perspective, and quality are highly valued.
The client has low staff turnover and a culture where many stay for a long time. It is largely about the combination of technically interesting products, helpful colleagues, and leadership that values people being able to do a good job over time.
