Do you want a meaningful job where you make a difference in a person's life every day?
We are expanding an existing residence where a new resident will be moving in. Another resident already lives in a different part of the same apartment. The operation is divided into two separate units with their own staff groups. You will work in one of the units and be responsible for one resident. Here, you work closely with the individual to create a secure, person-centered support based on the resident's daily life, needs, and interests. One resident is interested in computers, enjoys walks – preferably with a camera in hand – and likes to bake. The other resident enjoys driving, bathing, and baking. The role involves significant personal responsibility as you work independently. In the long term, the units may collaborate or merge.
We are currently seeking two employees for one unit and one employee for the other. The residence has two separate common areas and offices. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, night shifts, and weekends. You will work according to a laundry schedule. Working hours may vary based on operational needs. These positions are permanent with a scope of 80%, but you have the right to work up to full-time in other parts of the Disability Sector based on operational needs and in dialogue with you as an employee. Probation may apply. Start date is by agreement.
Your new job
As a support assistant, you provide individually adapted support based on the resident's needs, conditions, and interests. You help the resident manage their daily life and all the challenges that may arise, both inside and outside the home, with the goal of strengthening independence, participation, and quality of life. You also need to have a structured and predictable way of working. The work includes, among other things, support with personal care, planning and carrying out shopping, cooking, and household chores, as well as accompanying the resident to activities both inside and outside the home. You are also responsible for medication administration according to delegation and have contact with healthcare providers when necessary.
You work independently, which requires that you are confident in your professional role, have a professional attitude, and take initiative. We would like you to have experience working with people with disabilities, especially within neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and autism, and that you have knowledge of or experience with low-affective interaction. You work extensively to prepare the resident for different situations and activities, with the goal of reducing stress and preventing behaviors that may require extra care.
The operation has access to a company car. A Category B driver's license is therefore meritorious as it is used for activities, shopping, and errands.
