Now you, who are skilled in change-oriented conversations, have the opportunity to support the operations at the Centre Against Violence. We need reinforcement for a short period of approximately 9 months to meet the current needs.

The Centre Against Violence is a county-wide competence centre against violence in close relationships. It offers support to adults exposed to violence, children who have experienced violence, and treatment for perpetrators of violence. The operation is a collaboration between the county's eight municipalities, but organizationally belongs to Östersund Municipality, Social and Labour Market Administration.

The Centre Against Violence offers interventions via service and/or assistance. Most interventions are given individually, but the operation also has group activities. The operation has a mandate to act as a support for professionals, offer education, and coordinate the municipalities' work against violence in close relationships.

At the Centre Against Violence, eight employees with different specializations work, along with one operations manager and one unit manager at 25 percent. The work is carried out based on set goals and involves both support and change work. An important starting point is that those exposed to violence are protected from further violence. The work is conducted based on the seeker's needs, with a salutogenic perspective on the individual's future.

Job Responsibilities

Your primary task is to provide individual conversation support to residents aged 15 and up who are exposed to violence in close relationships. The method "Conversations about Freedom" forms the basis for the conversations. Group activities may also be part of the role, conducted together with a colleague. At the Centre Against Violence, everyone helps take responsibility for our reception phone, which is open between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM every weekday.

The position involves cooperation and collaboration with municipalities as well as externally with other authorities and organizations. It also includes providing information about the operation to partners, as well as training and consulting other professionals within the municipalities.

Working hours are primarily during the day; some evening shifts may occur but not on a regular basis. The work may involve travel within the county as the operation is county-wide.

Qualifications

An adequate post-secondary education related to social work, combined with experience that the employer deems suitable. It is an advantage if you have a few years of experience in supportive conversations and/or change work, and preferably knowledge and competence in violence in close relationships. Experience with group activities is also an advantage.

You have the ability to work independently and have good cooperation skills. You enjoy supporting residents with both practical matters and change work through conversation. You possess an empathetic ability to put yourself in someone else's perspective or situation without taking over the person's feelings.

We see flexibility, a solution-focused approach, and comfort in speaking in front of a group of people as important qualities for the position. You are responsible and have reached a personal maturity that makes you confident in yourself. Personal suitability is highly valued. A driver's license is required.

The Recruitment Process

The application deadline is June 25, 2026. Received applications are reviewed continuously, and a selection will be made in parallel. Candidates will be invited to a physical interview. Proposed times at present are June 23 at 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM, June 24 at 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, and possibly June 29. After interviews, a further selection is made, and reference checks are conducted thereafter. Please discuss with your references the possibility of being available on June 26 and June 29. We would appreciate it if you could start as soon as possible.

For positions where the work involves direct and regular contact with children and young people, as well as for operations within LSS (Acts concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), care and nursing, health and medical care, psychiatric care, and addiction care, a valid extract from the police criminal record must be presented or submitted before employment. Note that it may take time to obtain the extract, so order it in good time so that the recruitment process is not delayed.
