The Community Planning Administration has now completed a comprehensive transformation journey that strengthens our ability to contribute to Trelleborg's growth and sustainable development. Since the beginning of 2026, we have had a new, modern, and long-term sustainable organization in place, designed to meet future challenges and opportunities with clear direction and high professionalism.

The new structure consists of three departments: The Rescue Service, The Building and Environment Department, and The Planning and Geodata Department. Each department comprises two specialized units and is supported by a shared administrative unit, providing us with excellent conditions for efficient, coordinated, and high-quality work. With our shared forward-looking spirit and focus on innovation and development, we lead community planning in Trelleborg forward. Our work contributes to creating an attractive, safe, and sustainable municipality for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Responsibilities

As a GIS Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, quality-assuring, and making the municipality's geodata accessible. You will work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues from various parts of the organization.

In this role, you will analyze, manage, and visualize geodata while supporting the business with GIS expertise in both projects and ongoing operations. You will help develop methods, working practices, and system support to create efficient and purposeful use of geodata.

A key part of the assignment is to contribute your knowledge and support colleagues with GIS-related questions. You will be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and taking initiative to implement solutions that move the work forward. Through your engagement, you will contribute to both development and positive collaboration within the team.

You will also keep track of developments within the field and contribute to the operation evolving in line with new opportunities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university degree in GIS, urban planning with a GIS focus, or other education or experience considered equivalent. You have good knowledge of ESRI platforms, such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.

As a person, you have good collaboration skills and thrive when working with others. You are engaged, take responsibility for your tasks, and have a drive to develop both working methods and solutions. You contribute actively to collaborations and are happy to share experiences while being curious about others' perspectives.

You work in a structured manner and have a solution-oriented approach that helps you move the work forward.

Experience with ArcGIS Urban, ArcGIS CityEngine, or FME is considered an advantage.
