About the job

All study and career counselors within Lidköping Municipality are part of the Child and Student Health area, regardless of whether the work is performed at the primary school, upper secondary school, or within adult education. The position will be directed towards De la Gardie Upper Secondary School in Lidköping Municipality.

Your duties will include providing guidance, support, and information to students. You will also work with admission questions, study planning, and individual counseling sessions, as well as other related tasks. In addition to collaborating with teachers, school management, and student health services, you will also cooperate with other functions at the school.

We are looking for you who have a degree in study and career counseling. It is an advantage if you also have experience in counseling work within upper secondary school. We see that you have a genuine interest in work that involves motivating individuals and giving them the prerequisites to learn and take personal responsibility. As a person, you are flexible, development-oriented, and have good collaboration skills. You can also plan and prioritize so that tasks are completed within the set time.

You are a social, outgoing, and creative person. You thrive in meetings with students and find it easy to build trusting relationships. Since we work in teams, collaboration is an important part of your working style, and you contribute to a positive work environment for both students and colleagues.

Qualifications:

• Education as a study and career counselor
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
• Ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing

Fixed-term employment from November 2, 2026, until April or as agreed, with a scope of 100%.

The extract is requested via the Criminal Record Register - request extract | Swedish Police Authority (polisen.se). It usually takes between 1-2 weeks to receive it by mail.

Criminal Record Extract

Before offering employment, you as a candidate are obliged to present an extract from the criminal record register for work in any of the following areas; school or preschool, work with children in other activities than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS, work at or in connection with HVB homes, work with elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
