Torsby Hospital is one of Region Värmland's three emergency hospitals, serving approximately 40,000 residents in northern Värmland. During the winter season, the patient volume increases due to the proximity to several major ski resorts.

We have three wards where patients with internal medicine, surgical, and orthopedic conditions are treated. Additionally, we have outpatient clinics, a mobile team, an operating department, endoscopy, an ICU with intermediate care beds, and a 24-hour emergency department with radiology and laboratory services.

Your Responsibilities

As a Specialist/Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine, you will participate in all parts of the operation, which includes work on the ward, in outpatient clinics, and on call. You are responsible for the management of acutely ill patients with a broad internal medicine spectrum and have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in specific patient groups based on interest and operational needs.

The role also includes supervising AT, BT, and ST doctors, as well as active participation in development and quality work. After induction, you will be part of the night on-call line, which is conducted as home on-call during evenings, nights, and weekends, with presence during daytime.

Your Knowledge and Competencies

We are looking for a licensed physician with Swedish proof of specialist competence in internal medicine. You must have Swedish language skills at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Previous hospital experience with inpatient internal medicine care, as well as experience with night on-call and dual specialty, are meritorious.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. You have good collaboration skills and a professional approach, and you see the big picture. At the same time, you have the ability to tackle and handle complex problems and can adapt to the situation.
