About the position

As an assistant nurse at Eker Home Care, you have a coordinated responsibility for support, service, and nursing interventions for our clients. In your daily work, you plan, implement, and follow up on these interventions.

You work in a team together with colleagues with different competencies, where we always have the individual's specific needs and interests at the center. We work with a rehabilitative approach and person-centered care where the client's needs, wishes, and abilities determine the goals of rehabilitation.

Quality and good care are important to us, and as an employee, you are expected to contribute and participate in our development work. Together, we are responsible for ensuring that the work maintains good quality and that we follow the guidelines and decisions that come with the assignment.

Examples of tasks:

• Perform nursing tasks and, based on delegation, certain medication management.
• Perform service tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
• Plan and develop work independently and together with the work group.
• Create and follow goal plans, routine descriptions, and action plans together with the client.
• Collaborate with relatives and others in the client's network, such as nurses and occupational therapists.
• Document regularly in the operation's documentation system and review existing documentation.
• Create and follow up on implementation plans.
• Have knowledge of and follow the operation's current laws, policies, and routines.

About the workplace

Eker Home Care currently consists of 21 employees, 2 administrators, and 1 unit manager. Together, we work to ensure that our clients in Varberga, Nya Hjärsta, Mellringe, Björkahaga, and the countryside receive the best possible nursing and service.

The Care and Support Area is part of the Social Services Administration. The operations cover care and support, preventive activities, authority exercises in the area, as well as housing placement and home adaptations. Within the Care and Support Area, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As an assistant nurse with us, you are a confident and stable person. You have the ability to meet clients in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. Being responsible for your tasks is a given for you. You collaborate well with other people and relate to them in a sensitive and smooth way. Furthermore, you have a positive view of humanity with great respect for each individual's specific needs. Additionally, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You master the Swedish language to such an extent that you can communicate with the client and other staff, as well as document in writing what the operation requires. Since the work involves digital documentation in the operation system, good computer skills are required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Proof of protected professional title, or alternatively covered by transitional rules (permanent assistant nurse on July 1, 2023).
• Category B driver's license, manual transmission.
• Ability to cycle.

Other information

From July 1, 2023, assistant nurse is a protected professional title. This means you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as an assistant nurse. While waiting for your certificate, it is possible to be employed as a care assistant. However, if you had a permanent employment as an assistant nurse on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
