Stiernhööksgymnasiet is beautifully located by the shore of Lake Siljan and is a high school with approximately 500 students. It is a unique high school with proud traditions and a student body from all over Sweden. The school has a documented high goal fulfillment with very good educational quality. The school offers the construction and infrastructure program, economics program, electrical and energy program, nature and agriculture program (with specializations in animal care, horse keeping, and farming), natural science program, social science program, as well as the four introductory programs. The school also offers adapted national programs for upper secondary school; forestry, land, and animals, as well as property, infrastructure, and construction. Additionally, the school offers National Sports Education (NIU) in equestrian sports and bandy, as well as Local Sports Education (LIU) in various sports. The school has a student boarding house with over 130 beds, as well as food production as part of the agricultural education. Parts of the production are served in the municipality's kitchens. Rättvik therefore has Sweden's most locally produced school food.

Job Description

Social Pedagogue at Stiernhööksgymnasiet - working both in school and at the boarding house.

Do you want to make a real difference in the daily lives of young people? We are now looking for an engaged and relationship-building social pedagogue who wants to help create a safe, structured, and developmental environment for our students - both in school and at our boarding house.

About the Position

As a social pedagogue with us, you work closely with the students in their daily lives, focusing on social development, well-being, and successful studies. You are an important adult role model and contribute to creating security, structure, and good habits. The work takes place both in the school environment and at the boarding house, where you meet the students' needs in different situations and contexts.

Your Responsibilities

• Support students in social challenges and in their personal development
• Work on building relationships and conduct motivational interviewing
• Be a present adult who contributes to structure, security, and clarity
• Work with conflict management and contribute to a respectful climate
• Support students in developing strategies for daily life and studies
• Participate actively in the daily work both in school and at the boarding house
• Initiate and carry out activities that promote community and health
• Work preventively against exclusion and mental ill-health

Collaboration

You collaborate closely with, among others:

• Teachers, mentors, and student health services
• Boarding house staff
• Guardians

Together, you work to create a holistic view of the student and provide coordinated and long-term support. An important part is strengthening the collaboration between school, boarding house, and home.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is educated as a social pedagogue or has other relevant post-secondary education.
• Has experience working with young people
• Has a good ability to build trusting relationships
• Is secure, clear, and empathetic in your approach
• Has good collaboration skills and works in a structured manner

Merits

• Experience working in school or boarding house
• Experience with motivational interviewing (MI)
• Knowledge of mental ill-health among young people.

Other
