Falu Municipality's Child and Family Section consists of an intake unit, Child and Young People 1 and 2, Resource and Family Law Unit, the open care unit Dialogen, BUBO which is the municipality's own residential home for children and youth, and UBO which is the municipality's supported housing. At the intake unit, you will belong to a group consisting of 8 case workers and 1 team leader. From autumn 2026, we will work according to a new structure where the collaboration between the intake unit and the investigation unit will be further strengthened.
For you who are new to us, regardless of experience, we offer a solid introduction program. Our team leader together with godparents will guide you through your first year. You will also attend various courses within the professional journey education initiative and you will receive basic training in Signs of Safety. Our goal and ambition is that you should never have to stand alone in difficult or unfamiliar situations; social work is something we do together.
Job Responsibilities
Working as an intake secretary at the Child and Family Section means that you are the first person children, young people, and families meet within the social services. Your tasks consist of carrying out all steps in a preliminary assessment based on the Social Services Act, and as needed, working based on the Act concerning Care of Young Persons. We at the reception also write statements and sometimes shorter investigations. The work as an intake secretary is meaningful, varied, and developing.
Many you meet are in difficult situations, and this places high demands on you. You respect people's differences, and your moral compass shows that all people have the same value, the same right to influence their situation, and the same right to help and support.
Qualifications
Required for the role:
- Social Work Degree (Social Worker)
- Experience of social services work with authority decisions regarding children and young people for at least six months
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

We are looking for you who are communicative, structured, empathetic, and solution-focused in your approach to work. You have a good ability to create trust through an attentive and present demeanor, both in meetings with children and families and in collaboration with colleagues and other actors.
As a person, you are secure in yourself with a basic emotional stability. You enjoy working both independently and in teams, where collaboration and shared responsibility are a natural part of everyday life. The role requires that you can structure your work and make well-founded decisions, even in more complex situations.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Meritorious Qualifications
- Training in BBIC and/or Signs of Safety
- Category B driver's license
- Multilingualism
Terms of Employment
The recruitment is for a permanent full-time position with start date as agreed.
