We are looking for a support pedagogue who wants to drive pedagogical and quality work at the LSS Children and Youth Housing.
Your Role
You will be part of a team consisting of support assistants, support educators, and care pedagogues. Everyone works to ensure that children and young people within the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) are given the opportunity to live as independent a life as possible.
As a support pedagogue at the LSS Children and Youth Housing, you have a statutory and professional responsibility for the support measures according to LSS. You provide support and services based on the child's/young person's needs and wishes, as well as based on the individual implementation plan.
The support measures are based on the individual needs of the children/young people to promote abilities, integrity, participation, and self-determination. A working day may include providing support and help with pedagogical support regarding activities, meals, planning, reminders, social situations, personal care, cleaning, laundry, and other tasks that the person you support needs help with. It also includes maintenance of the unit's premises, cooking, and shopping.
The job involves actively implementing and developing methodological work. Furthermore, you initiate and draw up individual action plans, conduct risk assessments when necessary, and are responsible for the creation and follow-up of implementation plans and documentation. The work includes care tasks and handling challenging situations.
At our workplace, you work both in a team and independently. Since you will supervise your colleagues in pedagogical development work, it is important that you feel confident and have a genuine interest in working with people and developing pedagogical approaches.
- Working hours are irregular, including days, evenings, on-call shifts, nights, and weekends.
- In addition, you are responsible for maintaining close and good cooperation with guardians, relatives, schools, and other professionals within healthcare.
Other duties:
- Quality assurance of the activity based on users' support needs.
- Supervision in methods and strategies within the work team.
Your Experience
- Educated as a support pedagogue or alternatively have an equivalent pedagogical education, for example, post-secondary education of 200 YH or 60 HP in the field of disability/behavioral science.
- Good knowledge of pedagogical methods, e.g., within clarifying pedagogy.
- Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Good computer skills.
- Experience in drawing up and following up implementation plans and other social documentation.
- Experience working actively as a support pedagogue within LSS children & youth or alternatively as a support pedagogue within LSS adults.
- Knowledge of low-affective handling (low-arousal approach).
- Experience working with welfare technology and quality assurance of work.
- Knowledge and experience in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
Meritorious qualifications include:
- Previous experience working with children and young people with functional variations.

We work to provide support to children, young people, and young adults with functional variations. The work is varied and very developmental as you at the unit meet a broad spectrum within intellectual disability, autism, and NPD diagnoses.
The support is individually adapted and based on the individual's needs to guarantee good living conditions and a good life for the individual. It is based on our active interest and a willingness to listen and understand. Through motivating and practically supportive measures, we help people meet and handle different situations in daily life with the goal that they should live as independent a life as possible based on their abilities. The support is given both in the activity's premises and in everyday activities out in society.
