Leadership and Support Functions at Akademiska Sjukhuset
We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic moments, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
Our Operations
Care Administrative Service (VAS) is a hospital-wide organization where medical secretaries, administrators, and receptionists provide administrative support to all departments within the hospital. This means you will become an important part of the care chain at one of Sweden's largest university hospitals, characterized by high competence, specialized care, patient choice, and a vast breadth of services.
We are currently seeking summer substitutes!
Your Role
At our facility, tasks are varied with a focus on care administration. As a medical secretary, you contribute to a well-functioning care chain for our patients. We work together to maintain a structured and efficient care administrative organization with the patient always in focus.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are studying or have completed a recognized education in Health and Social Care Administration, or equivalent training for medical secretaries, or alternatively, if you are a medical student. You must have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as well as in medical terminology. Furthermore, you should have good IT skills in a Windows environment. Previous experience with the Cosmic system is considered an advantage.
Your Competencies
To work as a medical secretary with us, a high sense of responsibility and attention to detail are required to ensure that patient administration functions in a patient-safe manner. To succeed in your role, we see that you can collaborate well with all professional categories and have a good ability to adapt to new conditions and situations. In pressurized situations, you easily adjust and prioritize work based on the hospital's needs.
Your sense of service, commitment, and positive attitude contribute to a good work climate, where we all help each other and collaborate to achieve the best care quality for our patients.
What We Offer
It is important to us that you get a good start in your work, which is why we provide you with an introduction tailored to your experiences and needs.
We offer you a summer substitute position, ranging from 5–10 weeks at one of our clinics, emergency departments, information desks, or receptions. The more weeks you can work this summer, the more advantageous it is, preferably consecutively.
For employment at our emergency departments, working hours are scheduled for day and evening, weekdays/weekends, or alternatively night shifts on weekdays/weekends. Other clinics and information desks have working hours scheduled during office hours, Monday–Friday.
Interviews and appointments are conducted on an ongoing basis. Start date by agreement.
