Oncology Ward 87 is a highly specialized care unit treating lymphoma, sarcoma, urological cancer, and research patients. The ward is currently in a very exciting phase, which includes new working methods and increased development opportunities for assistant nurses.

The Business Area (VO) of Hematology, Oncology, and Radiation Physics is responsible for all non-surgical cancer care and research-based development in the southern healthcare region, serving a population of approximately 1.6 million inhabitants. The business area has outpatient and inpatient units in Malmö, Lund, and Helsingborg.

Job Responsibilities

As an assistant nurse at Oncology Ward 87, you are an important part of the team, which also consists of nurses and doctors. Your duties include patient-centered care, monitoring vital parameters, assisting in ward operations, assisting with medical examinations, advanced cell therapies, and autologous stem cell transplantations. As an assistant nurse, you also have the opportunity to receive several delegations for more advanced care.

We have a patient group with a wide age range, making every care situation unique, which is both exciting and developmental. Together with the responsible nurse, you plan the care for the patients in the team. As an assistant nurse, you are responsible for five to six patients. There is usually also a resource person who relieves the team through targeted interventions.

Oncology Ward 87 is a welcoming workplace with a supportive work climate. Unique to the ward is that every other week, all staff participate in an ethics round, giving you as an employee the opportunity to ventilate and reflect. As a new assistant nurse with us, you will receive an adapted introduction based on your previous experience. After your introduction, you will have access to a mentor who is an experienced assistant nurse from the ward.

We apply a preference schedule on the ward. The position involves mixed shifts (day/evening/night) and weekend work, with service for two out of five weekends.

Qualifications

We welcome you who are trained as an assistant nurse with an interest in oncological care, and who meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied under the previous or current program structure. Proficiency in Swedish at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement.
