Make a difference. Every day.

At the Orthopedics Business Area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), approximately 500 employees work together, making us one of Sweden's largest orthopedic departments. The operations are divided between outpatient and inpatient care. The inpatient care consists of three wards and a pre- and post-operative ward where we work in interdisciplinary teams. We provide both highly specialized care and broad orthopedic services, with units in Malmö and Lund, which may involve alternating work locations between the cities.

We collaborate with several other business areas within Sus, providing insight into a wide range of diseases and stimulating work. We focus on care, research, and education, which form the foundation for good and safe patient care. Orthopedic physiotherapy is conducted in both Malmö and Lund within the departments of pediatrics, shoulder, spine, foot, trauma, sports medicine, arthroplasty, and sarcoma.

We are now welcoming a Physiotherapist to our unit in Lund, where we can offer varied and enjoyable work where no two days are alike. The physiotherapy unit is responsible for both the ward (inpatient care) and the clinic (outpatient care).

1 position(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES

At the clinic, the physiotherapist meets both children and adults. We perform assessments and initiate rehabilitation within highly specialized orthopedics. Patients assessed may be newly injured directly from the emergency room, but also have subacute injuries and other orthopedic conditions where the assessment serves as the basis for potential surgical intervention. We perform post-operative checks and initiate specific rehabilitation after conservative and surgical treatment. The work involves close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, plaster technicians, medical secretaries, and administrators at the clinic. The work is highly specialized, and if you are an experienced physiotherapist with relevant training/courses, you will have greater responsibility in the clinic operations. The diverse orthopedic tasks at the workplace offer opportunities for varied duties and professional development.

On the ward, the physiotherapist is part of an interdisciplinary team where their specific competence plays a leading role. The tasks include assessing, mobilizing, training, and informing patients and relatives with the aim of achieving optimal rehabilitation for a safe discharge home. We highly value ward work as it allows you to follow the patient throughout the entire care chain from inpatient care to outpatient clinic.

As a new employee, you will receive an introduction and shadowing during your first period to ensure the safest possible start. The physiotherapy unit at the Orthopedics Business Area is undergoing exciting development work to establish a career and service model, offering excellent opportunities for professional growth for physiotherapists. The physiotherapy unit is also the first unit within Skåne University Healthcare to establish specialist positions. In other words, there are great opportunities to develop your physiotherapy career.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist/sports therapist with the eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at level C1 or higher according to the Council of Europe scale is a requirement. It is an advantage if you have experience in physiotherapy work within orthopedics, musculoskeletal diseases, and training in OMT and/or Axelina.

As a person, you are calm and work methodically and structured, even when handling multiple parallel tasks. You are flexible and have the ability to quickly shift focus as you will be working in an environment that provides emergency services and changes rapidly. Personal suitability is given great importance.

This recruitment uses continuous selection. Interviews are planned during week 26. We warmly welcome your application!
