The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also operates closed youth care facilities. We do this through youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse problems across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what role you have, you help create life-changing change.

SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården receives non-compulsory school-age girls. We have operations in Fjugesta, three miles west of Örebro, and a satellite unit in Granhult, three miles north of Lindesberg. The girls come to us due to psychosocial issues and problems with crime or drug abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need.

We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work, as well as providing support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your job and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining security according to our routines and help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with school, cleaning, cooking, etc. Contact person duties are also part of your responsibilities.

This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, engagement, and attitude. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, equipping you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good cooperation. Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's value base of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with young people as well as with the rest of the staff. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to cooperate with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive way.

You must also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or an education from a university that we assess as equivalent.
  • Category B driver's license.
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.

Meritorious

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work within psychiatry or LSS care.
  • Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., as a prison officer.
  • Security guard training.
  • Education within care and nursing.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

If you do not have a degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or university college, we ask you to apply for our advertisement for the position of Treatment Assistant.

Employment:

The position is a hourly temporary position where each work shift is booked according to agreement. The working hours are according to schedule, including day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
