At the Älvsborg Amphibian Regiment in Gothenburg, we operate where land meets sea, serving as a vital link between the army and naval forces. The 5th Amphibian Battalion is growing and developing. We need more competent individuals to continue developing the unit for its important mission: to defend Sweden's many coastal archipelago areas and protect our routes into Scandinavia's largest port, thereby safeguarding Sweden's strategically important flows.

The 5th Amphibian Battalion is for you who want to become part of the strength and pride of the west coast. We are looking for skilled, orderly, and self-reliant individuals who want to join us in our development towards the amphibian forces of the future. Do you want a challenging and varied job in an archipelago environment where your physical and mental abilities are tested? A job where teamwork and self-discipline are prerequisites for success, regardless of where we carry out our tasks? Then apply for the position of Mine Soldier at the Amphibian Company!

Who are we?

The Amphibian Battalion in Gothenburg is a highly mobile unit with fast patrol boats. The battalion's main task is combat in archipelago and coastal areas. We are a development unit with significant growth in personnel, equipment, and capabilities, which means good opportunities for a developing soldier position within several directions.

Currently, the battalion is organized into three companies: 504. Amphibian Rifle Company with rifle combat supported by mortars, 505. Maintenance Company with logistics and medical platoons, and 502. Amphibian Company which conducts naval target combat with missile and mine units, where the battalion's command and communication capabilities are concentrated.

The Mine Platoon is part of the naval target combat amphibian company and uses the M9 mine system as its main armament. The M9 mine system is a controllable mine system that can be deployed from all boat types within the amphibian corps. The platoon's main task is naval target combat in archipelago environments using sea mines, conducted in depth together with missile units. We are currently looking for mine soldiers, and the position in the mine platoon involves a lot of practical and physical service both at sea and on land, where you as a soldier are expected to take significant individual responsibility for your part of the task.

The position covers ranks OR1–5.
