The 5th Amphibian Battalion is growing and developing. We are looking for more competent combat boat mechanics who wish to contribute to the battalion's important task: defending Sweden's coastal archipelago areas and protecting our access routes to Scandinavia's largest port, in order to safeguard Sweden's strategic flows.

Who are we?

The Amphibian Battalion in Gothenburg is a highly mobile unit with fast-moving combat boats. The main task is combat in archipelago and coastal areas. We are a development unit with significant growth in personnel, equipment, and capabilities, offering good opportunities for a developing soldier role within several specializations.

The battalion is organized into three companies: 504. Amphibious Infantry Company (infantry combat supported by mortars), 505. Maintenance Company (logistics and medical platoons), and 502. Amphibious Company (sea target combat with missile and mine units, where the battalion's command and communication capabilities are centralized).

What are we looking for?

The 5th Amphibian Battalion is currently seeking competent combat boat drivers to enhance the battalion's capabilities. You will work closely with other naval personnel but will be employed by one of the platoons.

The position covers ranks OR1-5.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed and approved conscription as a combat boat driver at the Älvsborg Amphibian Regiment.
  • Upper secondary education with passing grades.
  • Swimming proficiency: 400 m.
  • Lifeguarding: 25 m swimming, 3 m dive, 25 m towing of a dummy.
  • Physical fitness level corresponding to FM FysS 3.

Personal Attributes

Many of the battalion's tasks are highly demanding, which places specific requirements on our soldiers both physically and mentally. You are stress-resistant, self-reliant, flexible, and always do your best to solve the task at hand. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

  • Category B driver's license.

Other Information

Employment Type: Full-time GSS/K-service with a fixed-term contract of 6 years, including a 6-month probation period for new hires. Individual salary setting applies according to agreement.

Work Location: Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg.

Travel and evening/weekend duty may occur.

Start Date: Week 631

After the selection process, you may be called to a test day. This will take place at the Gothenburg Garrison in June. During the test day, your suitability will be assessed while physical tests and interviews are conducted.
