Our Operations
The Section of Endocrinology at Akademiska Sjukhuset in Uppsala is now seeking a Specialist Physician in Endocrinology.
Your Role
To work independently with patients suffering from endocrine diseases, including diabetes, obesity, and osteoporosis. Work will take place in outpatient clinics, day care, inpatient care, and as a consultant. On-call duties at the emergency department and service as a second-year house officer (sk husjour) are a natural part of the position. You will assist in developing and leading the section's work within the endocrine field. Participation in work towards the Healthcare Region of Central Sweden is a natural part of the job. Furthermore, active participation in mentoring, education, and further training of junior colleagues. The section works within multidisciplinary teams centered around the patients.
Your Qualifications
You must be a Specialist Physician in Endocrinology; additional specialization in Internal Medicine is meritorious. Research experience is meritorious but not required. If a doctoral degree has not yet been conferred, you are expected to engage as a PhD student within one of the section's research groups. Experience working in endocrinology, including at the Section of Endocrinology, Akademiska Sjukhuset, is meritorious. Clinical teaching experience is meritorious, as mentoring medical students and junior colleagues is a natural part of the position.
Your Competence
Clinical experience working in endocrinology, as well as research and pedagogy as described above. Great attention will be paid to personal competence and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and other healthcare staff, as well as experience working at the Section of Endocrinology, Akademiska Sjukhuset in Uppsala. Experience in student mentoring.
