About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Strategic Buyer for an exciting consulting assignment with one of our major clients in the automotive industry. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing activities within a defined area, driving both strategic and operational initiatives focused on cost-efficiency, quality, and delivery security.

In this position, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers. You will not only manage ongoing purchasing activities but also develop long-term strategies, drive improvement initiatives, and contribute to business development, for example in sustainability.

The assignment covers a period of 6 months with a high chance of extension.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and drive daily purchasing activities
• Be responsible for and execute strategic sourcing work, as well as drive cost-reduction initiatives
• Develop and implement business and purchasing strategies
• Negotiate contracts and ensure efficient supplier solutions
• Establish and develop structures for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
• Monitor and analyze market developments affecting availability and pricing
• Ensure that delivery, quality, and cost meet set targets
• Collaborate with internal functions and project teams

About you:

We are looking for a confident and business-driven buyer with a strong ability to work both strategically and operationally. You have approximately 5 years of purchasing experience, including strategic sourcing and supplier development in complex, preferably technical, environments. Furthermore, we expect you to have strong negotiation skills and high business acumen, along with experience working in international organizations. You have good collaboration skills and are accustomed to working with multiple stakeholders; experience from the automotive industry or similar is a plus.

Key requirements:

• Approx. 5 years of relevant experience in strategic purchasing
• Experience in sourcing, supplier development, and cost optimization
• Experience in developing and implementing purchasing or category strategies
• Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into business decisions
• Experience in driving projects independently
