The Lung and Allergy Clinic is a day-care unit operating Monday to Friday. We are part of the specialized medicine area 2 and provide specialist care in pulmonology and adult allergology.

Common diagnoses include lung cancer, obstructive lung diseases, various forms of lung parenchymal disease, and respiratory insufficiency. Regarding allergic diseases, we treat airway allergies and asthma, as well as food and drug allergies, and allergies to bees and wasps. The clinic is responsible for bronchoscopy services in northwestern Scania, utilizing advanced diagnostics and endobronchial ultrasound.

The clinic currently has 23 employees, including nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and doctors, as well as paramedics. Our commitment is high, and as a nurse, you play a vital role at the clinic.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The nurse position involves clinic work within the field of lung and allergy care, including investigation, treatment, and follow-up. Common tasks include spirometry and skin prick tests, acute installation of medical gas in the home (oxygen therapy), assisting doctors with various examinations such as bronchoscopy, insertion of pleural drains, and thoracentesis. It is important that you are motivated to participate in bronchoscopy services, as this is an urgent and prioritized activity. The role also includes, together with colleagues, responsibility for initiating, treating, and following up patients undergoing immunotherapy, both subcutaneously during visits to our allergy clinic and digitally for those with sublingual immunotherapy. Here, you have the opportunity to work independently while being part of a larger team where we collaborate to achieve the best possible continuity and quality for the patient.

The nurses here have a high level of knowledge, are experienced, and confident in their roles. All nurses have specific responsibilities, including running smoking cessation clinics, asthma/COPD clinics, fibrosis clinics, subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy, provocations, and follow-ups of medication treatments, as well as managing equipment and administering medical gas (oxygen therapy) in patients' homes. The clinic also has two contact nurses focusing on patients being investigated for and followed up for cancer within our unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare and have experience in clinical work as a nurse. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. You must have a B driver's license or equivalent. Specialist education in medical nursing, further education in asthma, allergy, and COPD, and/or experience in lung or allergy care are meritorious for the position but not mandatory.
