Pulmonary Medicine in Malmö consists of Ward 3 and the Malmö Outpatient Clinic. Together, we provide specialized care for patients with severe lung diseases. Here, you will encounter everyone from previously healthy individuals suffering from pneumothorax to very critically ill patients in the terminal stages of life.

Ward 3 is a care ward with integrated outpatient services, capable of caring for 22 inpatients and four day-care patients. We encounter diagnoses such as COPD, emphysema, lung cancer, pneumothorax, and interstitial lung diseases daily in our work. The outpatient service provided at Ward 3 is an intervention unit that performs a variety of bronchoscopic examinations, drain insertions, pleural taps, and fine-needle aspiration preparations.

Malmö Outpatient Clinic works to investigate and treat patients with some form of serious lung disease. Our main specialist areas are COPD, interstitial lung disease (ILD), lung cancer (TXO), and long-term oxygen therapy. We also provide care for patients treated with non-invasive ventilation (NIV). This is a clinic that proudly maintains high patient accessibility for all nursing staff, nurses, and physiotherapists, and independently drives specialist care with a constant focus on improvement with the aim of creating a thriving operation regarding working environment, competence development, and patient safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for you who have an interest in integrated ward and outpatient work!

As a physiotherapist with us, you work to assess the need for physiotherapy intervention programs for patients with lung diseases. Common tasks include breathing exercises, reviewing and testing suitable inhalation medications and aids, mucus mobilization, walking tests, spirometry, and respiratory care with NIV. You may also lead training groups. Additionally, supervision and training of colleagues and students are included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed physiotherapist with eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are required. It is meritorious if you have previous experience within pulmonary medicine, care wards, or outpatient clinics.
