The Geriatrics Department is an inpatient ward with 24 acute care beds. The department focuses on acute geriatric and orthopedic care as well as rehabilitation. Here, we care for elderly patients with multiple chronic conditions using a person-centered approach. The varying clinical presentations of our patients provide a broad knowledge base for you as a nurse.

Work takes place in interprofessional teams where you, as a nurse, play a vital role alongside nurse assistants and other professions. These roles form the foundation of the daily nursing care in our operations. We offer you support from nursing leaders and pharmacists to facilitate daily work. Close teamwork among all professional groups is crucial to ensuring patients receive the best possible care. Our focus lies on patient participation and person-centered care, as well as close collaboration with municipal and primary care services prior to discharge to ensure continued high-quality care.

Responsibilities

In your role as a nurse, you are responsible for basic and medical nursing care, as well as risk assessment and preventive measures for patients. Documentation is done in Melior and Mina planer.

The position involves day and evening shifts, as well as some weekend work, with two out of five weekends off to ensure adequate rest and recovery.

Qualifications

You must be a licensed nurse with eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at a minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is required. We prefer candidates with experience in elderly care and/or acute hospital care. Additionally, a specialist education in elderly care is considered an advantage.
