About the Workplace

Hakkas Preschool is located in the same building as Hakkas School. The preschool is situated five miles outside the town center of Gällivare. The village of Hakkas is strongly driven by community associations and has good cooperation within the village.

Three educators work together in one children's group aged 1–5 years. Hakkas Preschool offers a calm learning environment with a lovely outdoor area, close to the forest, ice rink/football field, ski tracks, gymnasium, library, and swimming pool. This creates excellent conditions for children to develop in their immediate surroundings with many enjoyable challenges and learning situations.

The activities take place largely outdoors throughout the year, and nature is an integral part of the education. Together with the children, the educators grow vegetables, pick berries, and make jam. Delicious meals are always prepared using produce from the preschool garden.

The curriculum (Lpfö18), children's interests, and abilities guide the activities, where educators work in a research-based manner together with the children.

Job Responsibilities

As an Early Childhood Educator (Barnskötare) with us, your main responsibilities will be:

• Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching that promotes children's development towards curriculum goals.
• Support each child in their individual learning process and create a safe and inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to create the best possible conditions for every child's learning.
• Participate in the development of the activity and contribute to realizing our shared vision.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as an Early Childhood Educator. We also welcome applications from those with education that the employer deems equivalent.

As an Early Childhood Educator, you should be responsible and have clear leadership skills within the children's group. You easily build good relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues. Commitment, solution-focus, flexibility, innovation, and a strong ability to collaborate are qualities we value highly. Personal suitability is of great importance.

An extract from the Police Register (Police Certificate) for preschool work is required – this can be applied for on the Police website http://www.polisen.se (http://www.polisen.se). The certificate must be presented before employment.

Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish according to the national minority language law. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

Working Hours / Duration

Fixed-term employment 20–50%, subject to necessary decisions. Probationary period may apply.

Monthly salary. Gällivare Municipality applies individual salary setting – please state your salary expectations in the application.
