German Teacher at the Sami School Board

The Sami School Board (Sameskolstyrelsen) is a government agency with its office in Jåhkåmåhkke (Jokkmokk). We operate in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna. The Sami school is a form of education equivalent to the compulsory school, offering teaching from pre-school class to year 6, based on Sami culture and language according to the curriculum. We also provide distance education in Sami languages and support the development of educational materials.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic teacher to instruct year 6 students in modern languages, specifically German. This is a position for 1 person.

Responsibilities

• Teach year 6 students German.
• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on the curriculum and course plan.
• Assess and document students' knowledge development.
• Collaborate with school staff regarding students' learning and development.
• Teaching can be conducted on-site or via distance education.

Qualifications and Merits

• Licensed teacher with qualifications to teach German, or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Good knowledge of German and the ability to create an stimulating and safe learning environment.
• Experience in teaching in compulsory school is an advantage.
• Experience in digital and distance education is an advantage.
• Good teamwork skills, flexibility, and a professional attitude.

• Salary: Monthly salary (individual salary setting applies).
