Job Responsibilities

Älvsbyn Gymnasium offers the programs BA, EE, VO, SA, NA, and IM. We also have NIU skiing, ski orienteering, and orienteering. The school has approximately 150 students. Älvåkra School is a 7–9 grade school with approximately 260 students. The schools are located on the same campus and are connected.

Your main responsibilities as a Study and Career Counselor at Älvsbyn Gymnasium and Älvåkra School are to offer our students qualified study and career guidance in collaboration with the school's management and other staff.

You conduct counseling sessions with individual students and inform and guide individuals and groups regarding the choices they face concerning schooling and future career directions. You plan and support students during Älvåkra School's internship periods. As a Study and Career Counselor, you are part of the student health team at both schools.

Qualifications

You have a degree as a Study and Career Counselor or other education/experience that the employer considers equivalent. We value good ICT skills and assume you have good knowledge of the school's national guidelines and a deep understanding of your role as a Study and Career Counselor. You are flexible but organized, drive your work independently, but also see the value in and are good at collaborating with others. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date of 2026-08-01.

An extract from the police record of criminal convictions is required. We may apply a probationary period for new hires.
