Hello! Are you our new preschool teacher at Fjälldalens Preschool?

We are now looking for a Sami-speaking preschool teacher for our Sami minority language section, Heavdni.

Fjälldalens Preschool is a preschool with six sections where nature and the mountain are close by, giving you as a pedagogue a unique opportunity to be involved in shaping the preschool of the future. The preschool opened in January 2025, and we are now looking for you who want to join a wonderful group of colleagues and build a long-term career at the preschool. At the preschool, we meet our children in their first education and their first steps in lifelong learning, and as a preschool teacher, you are important.

Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher, you are part of a work team and are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the education offered to the children. You collaborate with the work team, and together you offer the children fun and educational teaching and training. As a preschool teacher, you have a special responsibility to lead goal-oriented processes and in the teaching, ensure that:

• caring, development, and learning form a whole, planning and implementation are based on the curriculum and on the knowledge and experiences the children have previously acquired,
• spontaneously arising activities and interests, daily activities, and routines at the preschool become part of the teaching, and
• develop pedagogical content and environments that inspire development and learning and that challenge and stimulate the children's interest and curiosity while maintaining their attention.

As a Sami-speaking preschool teacher, you work at our Sami minority language section Heavdni and work to strengthen children's Sami language as well as Sami culture. We work to ensure that Sami is integrated into the children's daily lives and in the different situations the children encounter at the preschool.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher and speak Sami (for example, Lule Sami or North Sami).

It is important:

• that you are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lpfö18),
• that you are a secure and clear leader, take initiative, are positive, and have faith in children's different competencies,
• that you have knowledge of and use various learning tools,
• that you have trusting relationships with children and guardians and that you have good cooperation skills. Great importance will be attached to personal qualities and personal suitability.
• that you use pedagogical conversations and pedagogical documentation in your work,
• that you use image support and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication),
• that you develop and drive the preschool forward according to the curriculum.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for the position.
• Within the framework of the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
