Stadsöskolan is a well-equipped school for grades 4-9 located in Gammelstad, approximately one mile from Luleå city center, midway between Kyrkbyn and the Lule River. This school year, the school has approximately 430 students, of whom 170 are in the lower secondary school (grades 7-9). The students and staff at Stadsöskolan are happy, feel safe, and the work climate is good. Adjacent to the school are a sports hall, swimming pool, library, youth center, and other local services such as a pharmacy, hairdresser, grocery store, café, health center, and public dental care, among others. Since there are several frequent bus services to and from Gammelstad, it is easy to commute to and from the school.

At our school, we place the student and their knowledge at the center, where we view relationship-building as a fundamental component. Here, student welfare begins in the classroom with good leadership, conscious pedagogy, and good collaboration among colleagues. We work with an inclusive approach to create a good and safe environment for all our students, and we value good collaboration with homes. Construction of Gammelstad's new F-9 school will soon begin. It will be a large workplace with much wisdom and experience gathered in one place. We have an exciting time ahead as we get to help shape a new, modern school.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will teach music to students in the lower secondary school. The position involves planning, supervision, teaching, and assessment. You will conduct your teaching and then actively evaluate it to find ways to reach all the students you meet. You will plan and carry out various performances with the students, such as the Lucia procession and school graduations.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the school's other music teachers, other teachers, and the student welfare team. You will belong to a work team and, together with a colleague, serve as a mentor for a class. Depending on qualifications, teaching in another subject may be added.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a certified subject teacher in music and have work experience from teaching the subject. It is an advantage if you have taught or have subject competence in technology.

To succeed in the role, you must be independent and skilled at planning, implementing, and following up on your teaching. In the classroom, you are a good leader with a focus on goal achievement and the ability to create order and peace for work. It is also important that you have good collaboration skills and are skilled at creating and maintaining good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

If you become a candidate for the position, you will need to present a clean certificate from the Swedish Police Authority (extract from the criminal record).
