About the Job
You will be the manager of the Unit for Leadership and Professional Development, which is responsible for training and school development initiatives concerning school leaders and managers at various levels. The unit's mandate includes, among other things, responsibility for the state official training for principals, education for school managers, continuing education for principals, as well as development support regarding systematic quality work and various types of change and development work. The unit also works to support the school system in preparedness and crime prevention efforts.
You lead the unit's employees and are responsible for personnel, operations, budget, and results. Together with your employees and with the support of the Swedish National Agency for Education's processes, you develop the operations so that the unit's mandate is carried out purposefully and efficiently, and you regularly monitor the results of the unit's work. The unit consists of approximately 25 employees with different competencies within the areas for which the unit is responsible.
The unit belongs to the Division for School Development, and you are part of the division's management group, working closely with your managerial colleagues. In your role, you are responsible for contributing to both the division and the agency as a whole reaching their goals. The duties also include representing the Swedish National Agency for Education externally and in the media.

Requirements for this job
- academic degree with a focus that the Swedish National Agency for Education considers relevant
- several years of current managerial experience, including responsibility for personnel, operations, and budget
- experience working as a school leader
- current experience working with issues in one or more of the following areas: crime prevention issues within the school system, pedagogical segregation, exclusion, and/or socio-economic challenges
- experience leading change and development work within the school sector
- good knowledge of the chain of command within the school system
- experience from working in state administration
- very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
It is meritorious if you have good knowledge of authority exercise and experience working with state investigations. It is also meritorious if you have experience working with cross-authority collaboration.
