The Department of Environmental Sciences is one of the larger departments within the Faculty of Science. The department consists of four units with over 170 employees, including researchers, teachers, doctoral students, and technical/administrative staff from more than 30 different countries. Research and teaching are conducted within environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology, atmospheric science, and biogeochemistry. As an employee at the Department of Environmental Sciences, you will become part of a dynamic environment with world-class research and a strong international character.

Research at the Unit of Atmospheric Science is focused on increasing the understanding of air composition and its impact on climate and health. Properties and effects of atmospheric aerosol particles are of particular interest in the research within the unit.

Job Responsibilities

The position is linked to ongoing projects regarding interactions between plants and soil in the tundra. The tasks include contributing to leading a field campaign to the Canadian tundra, as well as soil and plant sampling and sample processing.

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish master's degree or an equivalent degree from another country. We are looking for a highly motivated person with experience in designing and leading fieldwork in remote locations, and in conducting research focused on plants and soil in the tundra. The evaluation will be based on previous experience, independence, and the ability to collaborate with others. A background in biology, geosciences, or environmental sciences would be highly suitable. Good teamwork skills and proficiency in English are required.

About the Position

The position is for full-time employment for two months. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date in July.
