Job Description
As an Analytical Specialist at Octapharma in Stockholm, you will become part of the PCR R&D and Support section within the Quality Unit. This is a full-time consultant position through Randstad, starting with an initial 12-month assignment and with good opportunities for extension. In this role, you will work onsite in a GMP-regulated environment, combining experimental and theoretical work with a focus on method and technology development as well as quality control for virus detection in human plasma and recombinant production. You are expected to act as an expert resource for PCR within the organization and drive projects from development to the implementation of new methods, instruments, and automation. The assignment can start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
Method and Technology Development: Drive both experimental and theoretical development, optimization, and implementation of PCR methods, as well as the introduction of new laboratory equipment and automation.
Quality and Validation: Plan and perform validations, handle deviations, change control, and risk analyses in accordance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
Standardization: Develop and standardize work routines and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Collaboration and Support: Act as an internal expert resource for PCR and contribute to cross-functional collaborations and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
- Education: Academic degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, virology, or equivalent (PhD is an advantage).
- PCR and Lab Experience: At least 3 years of experience in laboratory work within molecular biology, including documented experience in PCR method development.
- Quality Work (GMP): Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment, including validation, change control, deviation management, risk analyses, and regulatory requirements.
- Instrument Knowledge: Good understanding of laboratory equipment related to PCR (e.g., real-time PCR and pipetting robots).
- Languages: Very good proficiency in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Desirable Experience:
- Establishment of PCR laboratories or similar environments.
- Implementation of new instruments and digital tools.
- Project management within method development or laboratory operations.
